Love
Love is a big issue with father God. Love has to do with father God's family. With father God love is not just a feeling but a place. It is not just how we feel. It is where we can belong. He manifests love in many ways. We can manifest love back in certain ways. Love is a heavy filter when we are trying to get close to God. Our love will be tested if we say we want to become a member of father God's family. Fortunately he is very into love and not hate. He didn't make everything just to display hate. Father God pursues hate rather aggressively to eliminate it from his creation. Sometimes father God seems to be the bad guy in doing so but somebody has to do it and he appointed himself as sole judge and juror and usually executioner. Father God keeps us free of having to worry about it on a personal basis and being responsible for the outcome, which leaves us totally free to love. He sometimes trains and empowers people to represent him on a governmental basis but they may only do what he requires. With father God it is all about his family and he wants to have a big happy family. Let's start with looking at how and what father God loves.
Father God Loves
Deuteronomy 33:3 Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.
Father God loves people. He created us to be loved by him and to be his children. He created us to need a big spiritual father.
Psalm 33:4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth. 5He loveth righteousness and justice: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
Father God made this planet and put lots of his creativity on it. He made things that need to mechanically work together and he knows how they need to work together. He also made people on the earth in his image that understand right and wrong and can express either one. Trees and grass do what they do but people have a free will and can share with each other on a spiritual level. Father God wants us to share with each other in righteousness and justice and truth.
Psalm 146:8 The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous: 9The LORD preserveth the strangers; he upholds the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
He is looking out for orphans and widows over the whole planet. He is sharing a feeling here for people who are fatherless and widowed. If we are fatherless we invoke the father nature in God that makes him want to step in and be that father.
Proverb 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Father God did not make all of us to feed on each other like we were fish. He made us in his image to relate to each other the way he would relate to us and the way we would relate to him. A proud look and feet that are swift to run to mischief may or may not involve others but the other abominations definitely do.
Proverb 3:11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: 12For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
Father God wants to consider us as though we are sons. He loves us and wants to see us walk in full sonship. This will take some learning and experience. If he wants to bring us closer to him and mature us a bit he will correct us. The best we can do is to accept the correction as though we wanted to remove the imperfection out of us as much as father God wants to remove it from us.
Psalm 37:28 For the LORD loveth justice, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
Father God loves his children. He has an eternal plan for us. Those that don't want to be part of his family will be destroyed.
Proverb 15:9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth(runs after) after righteousness.
Father God loves us if we aggressively run towards his righteousness. If we act wickedly we are an abomination.
Psalm 145:20 The LORD preserveth(guards) all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.
Father God differentiates between people that love him and those that don't. If we love him he will guard us. If we don't love him we are considered wicked and we will be destroyed
Psalm 21:8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
Father God's enemies are those that hate him. He will search out every one of his enemies.
Psalm 11:5 The LORD trieth(tests) the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. 6Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. 7For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.
Righteous means right or just according to father God. Since father God made the whole planet, that leaves nowhere on this planet that someone can hate father God. This planet is way too small to him to not know where someone is that hates him. He wants everybody to be one big happy family and he won't have wicked people around.
We see that father God didn't make everything to be chaotic. He wants order and decency. If he wanted chaos he wouldn't have made anything. He could have left space barren. He is very interested in his creation and wants it to produce life.
Israel Comes On The Scene
Ezekiel 16:6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live. 7I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare. 8Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.
Father God falls in love with the people that become Jerusalem. He built up these people and fell in love with them. They looked beautiful to him./ He became jealous over them and doted over them and wanted to be loved almost like in a marriage. Since father God created in us all the emotions we can feel, he can feel them more strongly than we even know how to. We see this in his relationship with the people of Jerusalem. Father God wants to feel this way about us.
Hosea 11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
The person Jacob, which means "heel grabber" was renamed Israel which means "he will rule as God". His offspring, the country of Israel, are collectively called Israel after him. Father God is calling the individual and the collective people his son. Father God is calling us out of spiritual Egypt right now.
Deuteronomy 4:35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him. 36Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire. 37And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;
Father God wanted to show to people that he exists and deals with the affairs of people. He picked a people that he raised up from one person and spoke to them and instructed them. Father God wants to show himself to us too. He has already written his word down so we can read it. We can get instruction from him through his word.
Isaiah 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 3For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. 4Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
The Lord redeemed Israel, the descendants of Jacob, at the expense of Egypt, Ethiopia and Seba. They were the "fall guy" so the Lord could make a point that he was in love with Israel. He wants a people to be his. We can be his.
Jeremiah 31:1 At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people. 2Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest. 3The LORD hath appeared from afar unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
The Lord isn't trying to be God. He is God. He wants to have a people that will be his people and that he is God over. He wants to do this out of love for us and not because he needs something to be the boss over. He can't help but be God. He wants to be our God.
Deuteronomy 30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live. 7And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.
We are not an enemy of the Lord when we let him circumcise our heart and when we love him with all our heart and all our soul. When we look good to the Lord he will protect us and put his curses on anyone that hates us.
Psalm 34:11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear(reverence) of the LORD. 12What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
If we desire a long life and want to see good in it we should look in the Lords word for how to reverence him. The Lord wants relationship with us enough to show us this so we don't get squashed by doing something he considers evil enough that he won't tolerate it. This brings us into the "law" that Moses was given to pass along to the Hebrew children, Israel. Let's look at parts of this "law" or "teaching". Let's just pick parts that show us how father God was teaching the Hebrew children to live on a daily basis. There are some good points that will show that he wants us to love each other and treat each other as equals. He wants us to revere him.
Moses Gives The Law
Exodus 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying, 2I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6And shewing kindness unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Father God makes it clear right off as to who he is and who the Hebrew children are. Father God is rather open in explaining that he is very emotional and experiences strong jealousy. That is fair, isn't it? He implies he considers it hate if someone he loves worships a man made god over him. Father God can see three and four generations go by him in a minute. He wants us to love him and keep his commandments. We will see that some of these commandments are rather simple in intent. They are just to make sure we know how to treat others and think about others. If we love father God and are considerate of others he will be kind like only father God can be to us.
Leviticus 6:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or of pledge(deposit), or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour; 3Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein: 4Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found, 5Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.
Father God is making up rules that involve our relationship with our neighbors. Many of us might never try to sin like this with our neighbor. Then again, if we have pesky neighbors or don't see eye to eye with them, we might be inclined to let something slide. Father God wants us to be pristine in the way we represent him towards others. He wants us to feel like we're his special children and we don't need to act bad towards others to make ourselves feel better or be advantaged. Father God will take care of our needs without us having to sin against our neighbor. Back then we would have to make a trespass offering to father God and pay back 120% to our neighbor right to their face. Rather humbling, isn't it? It's better to teach us to be like that than create a society of marauders living off of weaker people.
Leviticus 18:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God. 3After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. 4Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God. 5Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.
The Lord was making it clear that his children could not act like where they were coming from or where they were going to. Where they were coming from was bad enough for the Lord to tear up their false gods. Where they were going to was worse in that they were slated for a full elimination. The people in the promise land would be completely destroyed when the children of Israel finally go in there. The Lord made it clear that his children would be starting from scratch with new rules. The Lord promises life to us if we abide by those rules.
Leviticus 19:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy. 3Ye shall reverence every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths(intermissions, rests): I am the LORD your God. 4Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God. 5And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will. 6It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire. 7And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted. 8Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 9And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest. 10And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God. 11Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another. 12And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD. 13Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning. 14Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD. 15Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour. 16Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD. 17Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke(correct) thy neighbour, and not suffer(bring, desire) sin upon him. 18Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. 19Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee. 20And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. 21And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering. 22And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him. 23And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of. 24But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal. 25And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God. 26Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times. 27Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard. 28Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. 29Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness. 30Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD. 31Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. 32Thou shalt rise up before the grey haired(elderly), and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD. 33And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. 34But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. 35Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure. 36Just balances, just weights, a just ephah(dry measure), and a just hin(liquid measure), shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt. 37Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.
This isn't a bad list, is it? We have to be holy, or separated to the Lord. We should revere our parents. We should observe the Lords rest days. No false gods. We can't have any false gods. Remember, the Lord forewarned us he is a jealous God. We leave a little behind in our crops and let poor people come in and get it. This takes some faith to believe the Lord will still let us be profitable while giving away the tailings. Since he is telling us to give this away, he is implying he will bless us with a good enough harvest. We cannot cheat, steal and lie. Remembering that the name of someone represents their nature, character and authority we cannot misuse the Lords name. We cannot look down on handicapped people. We should not be a respecter of persons, either rich or poor. A talebearer is also called a she-devil. A busybody. Who needs it? Imagine the Lord pointing out that we can't be a busybody. He knows what undermines a good neighborhood. We should love our neighbor as ourself. Father God knows about the nature of his DNA and how keeping a pure line strengthens that animal or plant. Familiar spirits are real and come from a realm of spirit that is not favorable to us. If it were, the Lord would tell us to do that. He sees the other side of the veil. He lives there. He knows the good spirits from the bad ones. He will be our spirit guide. Honor the elderly. Respect strangers. Fair scales. None of these things is difficult. Most of us do these things already. As far as this list goes, most of us would be near perfect citizens in father God's kingdom. Father God gives us wisdom in areas like planting crops that we might not have known about. Notice we have to "observe" and "do" his statutes and judgments. Father God wants us to love each other and respect each other and deal fairly with each other.
Leviticus 24:17 And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death. 18And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast. 19And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him; 20Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again. 21And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death. 22Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.
These laws address a more severe aspect of life and death. They still follow the theme of treating others as you want to be treated. In fact, they impose just that. How you treat others is exactly how you will be treated. If you kill someone, you die. If you injure someone, you will be equally injured. We cannot treat others as though they are expendable. We are forcibly shown we are just as expendable. We should have the same laws for everyone, whether citizen or stranger. As far as father God is concerned, these laws are good for the whole planet. They don't just apply to a few people.
Deuteronomy 19:1 When the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the LORD thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses; 2Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it. 3Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither. 4And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past; 5As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live: 6Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past. 7Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.
Father God understands our humanity and does not condemn us to death for accidental death. With no malice aforethought we are not considered worthy of death. Father God is looking at our intent of our heart.
Leviticus 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God. 2Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD. 3If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; 4Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. 6And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. 7And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 9For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you. 10And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new. 11And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you. 12And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people. 13I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.
Father God has lots of good promises for us for regarding him as our God. If we do our part to walk in his laws he will make weather patterns work for our good. We will dwell in our land safely. Father God sets up where different kingdoms, or countries, exist. We have the same laws for everyone but still there are different boundaries. Countries are not allowed to cross borders. If father God changes a border then another country can move into the region they are allotted. Still, this is not crossing borders. If a country crosses outside of their border they are at risk of being cut back. If we do father God's commandments he will walk among us. He will be right here with us sharing with us and protecting us and maturing us.
Deuteronomy 6:1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it: 2That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. 3Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may multiply exceedingly, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey. 4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Father God promises to give us a long life if we revere him and keep his commandments. Father God wants us to love him with everything we have. This is a whole lot better than dealing with a god that is distant in space somewhere. He will walk among us and love us and we will love him.
Deuteronomy 7:7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: 8But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; 10And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face. 11Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them. 12Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers: 13And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee. 14Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. 15And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.
We see father God will destroy people who hate him to their face. He extends this barrier of protection to the people that are close to him. If we love him he will love us back. He will use his sovereign advantage in our favor blessing us with children, health, produce and cattle.
Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, 13To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? 14Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is. 15Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day. 16Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. 17For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: 18He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment. 19Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. 20Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name. 21He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen. 22Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.
The Lord is offering us things that are for our good. He is telling us where our advantage lies. He points out for us that he is the actual owner of everything that will ever be involved with us in our lives. He is again sharing a feeling here for people who are fatherless and husbandless. He wants strangers to feel at home on his planet no matter where they are. Jacob went into Egypt with 70 people and Israel came out at about 2.5 million people.
Deuteronomy 11:16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; 17And then the LORD'S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
Notice the key thing the Lord focuses on is worshiping other gods. If he is the provider we should acknowledge that. We would be walking away from all the blessings he promises just for wanting to put our heart into a false god. Father God takes us very seriously as humans with a heart he made in us to love and recognize a supreme being. He is that supreme being. He won't share that space in our heart with something else he made even if we shaped it into some kind of idol or image.
Deuteronomy 13:1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, 2And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; 3Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth(is testing) you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. 5And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee. 6If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; 7Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; 8Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: 9But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. 10And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 11And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you. 12If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying, 13Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known; 14Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you; 15Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword. 16And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again. 17And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers; 18When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.
We can see that no one is allowed to take us away from the Lord. Father God knows he will eventually end up destroying anyone serving other gods. He wants to protect as many people as possible. He is looking out for us so much that he authorizes us to cut all ties with anyone that will serve other gods. This is true for a "prophet", a family member or other people in general. Today we can say we dwell in a spiritual city so we don't need to destroy a physical city. However, it is well within father God's power and jurisdiction to do so if he wants to.
Micah 6:6 Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? 7Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Father God had animal sacrifices as object lessons for people to learn by. When we have to take a goat to a priest and convey our sins onto the goat by putting our hands on its head and speaking the sin onto the goat and then kill the goat and watch the priest bless it we learn of a cost associated with sin. Father God wants us to live right, do good and walk humbly with him as though we don't have a care in the world and nothing more than relationship with him matters.
Psalm 119:97 מ. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. 98Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. 99I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. 100I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. 101I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word. 102I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me. 103How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
The "law" isn't just mechanical robotics. King David lived by the law. He took hold of it and thrived on it when he was herding sheep as a boy. He loved it! This is what brought him into becoming a king. And he needed it all through his reign. We need it as we reign over our personal promise land.
Deuteronomy 30:11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. 12It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? 13Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? 14But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. 15See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; 16In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. 17But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; 18I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it. 19I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: 20That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
We have a choice of either life or death. Fortunately we have a choice. We can go all in for life or we can choose death. Father God will support our desire for life and he will also facilitate our death. Notice the death is as easy as following other gods. Life is pretty easy too as we have seen in the excerpts of the law. Love father God and love your neighbor as your self.
Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. 21But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 22All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. 23Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? 24But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
Here is a principle that father God imposes that separates everyone from everyone else. No one can say "Well, my son wanted me to do 'this' or 'that'", or "My husband told me I had to 'something or other'", or "My wife wanted me to 'something or other'". We have complete separation and freedom from everyone else. We have our own clean slate. If we change for the better and stop sinning, father God is very glad and takes us right in. If we start sinning father God will wipe out a lifetime of good works and consider us unrighteous.
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
This is a New Testament reference Jesus made to the principle above where a soul that starts sinning and doesn't repent will die. Jesus can say "I never knew you" even if he did at one time because your righteousness you have done "shall not be mentioned".
Ezekiel 16:36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them; 37Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness. 38And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
We saw where father God had professed his love for the people of Jerusalem. Unfortunately, this is where the discourse led to. Father God's heart was bleeding all over the place from where he had been in love with those people and they had become idolatrous and sinful. He had raised them from nothing into a mature people and they became spiritual harlots. Father God felt very naked in his heart in that he was turned over by his people he was in covenant with. In his fury and jealousy he turned them over and made them naked in front of all their lovers. He didn't just quietly and "maturely" write them off as though he lived in outer space somewhere. He took it to heart with lots of emotion that they had broken wedlock with him. Father God will feel fury and jealousy over us too.
Ezekiel 33:29 Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed. 30Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD. 31And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness. 32And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
The Lord has the perspective as though he was the fly on the wall in that he can see and hear everything we do. He can feel our heart and knows if we are sincere in our heart about what he is doing or if his word is just rich melodic music to us.
Jeremiah 14:10 Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander(go astray), they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins. 11Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their good. 12When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.
We can get so far away from the Lord that we have no family association with him. He becomes bitter and angry about us and wants to move on to a new time with new people.
Hosea 14:1 O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. 2Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves(offerings) of our lips. 3Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy. 4I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from them. 5I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. 6His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon. 7They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the grain, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon. 8Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found. 9Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
The Lord desires to think good things about us. He dreams up what our relationship will be like with him. We have to remove all of our sin. We cannot rely on the strength of horses or another country or the work of our hands to be our god. They are idols but not our God.
2 Chronicles 19:1 And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem. 2And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD. 3Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast established thine heart to seek God. 4And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beersheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers. 5And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city, 6And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment. 7Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
Establishing our heart to seek father God is a good thing. He will watch to see if we are doing something that is contrary to his interests and the establishment of his kingdom. Here father God had the attention of a king. This king had enough sense to line up with father God's principles at the instruction of a prophet. The prophet was sent because father God loved his people and wanted to guide them. We need to understand father God's principles. This king was saving the lives of many people in many cities by instructing his people and his leaders to fear/revere father God and not sin. We may encounter leaders and judges who didn't have such a good warning. Even if we don't have such leaders we can certainly rule our own lives without sin.
Psalm 4:1 To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm of David. Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast broadened me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. 2O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah. 3But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. 4Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. 5Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. 6There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. 7Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their grain and their wine increased. 8I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
We have to know how to reflect upon father God in our heart when no one is looking. Father God can put gladness there. He will put peace there. He will listen to our prayer and help us. He will be our righteousness. For this we have to be godly, hate vanity and abandon falsehood and put our trust in father God.
Father - Son
Let's look at examples of love in the New Testament.
1 Timothy 1:5 Now the end (goal) of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
Let's look at the word "end".
τέλος
telos
tel'-os
From a primary word τέλλω tellō (to set out for a definite point or goal); properly the point aimed at as a limit, that is, (by implication) the conclusion of an act or state (termination [literally, figuratively or indefinitely], result [immediate, ultimate or prophetic], purpose); specifically an impost or levy (as paid): - + continual, custom, end (-ing), finally, uttermost.
So we see we are talking about the end goal of father God's commandment. The end goal of father God's commandment is love out of a clean heart and clear conscience and sincere faith.
2 Thessalonians 3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
If we take our heart into the love of father God we can purify our heart and love out of our pure heart.
John 3:35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 36He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Father God loves Jesus, his son. He gave Jesus the complete authority over his creation. If we are in the spiritual body of Jesus we have father God's everlasting life. If we do not have a connection with father God's son Jesus we have a pending wrath hanging over our heads.
John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 20For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. 21For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and gives them life; even so the Son gives life to whom he will. 22For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. 24Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 25Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
If we want to pass from spiritual death to spiritual life we must believe on father God. Father God loved his son Jesus enough to empower him to be the physical representation of himself to us. Part of the goal of Jesus is to reveal the father to us. While we are spiritually dead we must listen to the word of the father given to us through his son Jesus. We can see how everything here that father God is doing is to promote life because he loves us. Father God is taking an interest in us. He sent his son to deliver an important message to us. The son is empowered to represent father God. The son is telling us what leads us to eternal life.
John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 17Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Father God loves that his son Jesus is willing to be the good shepherd and lay his life down for us. Jesus is willing to be the good shepherd that we might have life and have it more abundantly. Both of these people are working towards uniting us with father God.
John 8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. John 8:21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. John 8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. John 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. John 8:38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. John 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
Jesus focused in on who his spiritual father was and who the other peoples spiritual father was. "And he that sent me is with me". Notice that Jesus was saying father God was right there at that exact time. This is how it can be for us too. If we want to be a son of father God we cannot serve sin and be a servant of sin. Like father, like son. We can be part of a loving family like Jesus is part of father God's family. We have to abide in truth. Since father God is willing to be right there with us we have an unlimited source of truth available to us. And yes, we will also face the same kind of rejection from people that aren't part of our family. It is given we will have to face rejection from one family or the other.
John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. 31But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
Jesus was making sure the whole time he was in human flesh that the devil never had any root in him or control over him. Jesus kept all parts clean from any taint that was from the devil. Jesus used the fact that the father was always with him and only did what the father commanded him to do.
Father Loves Us
John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask(erotao - request) me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask(aiteo - demand something due) the Father in my name, he will give it you. 24Hitherto have ye asked(aiteo - demand something due) nothing in my name: ask(aiteo - demand something due), and ye shall receive(lambano - take, get hold of), that your joy may be full. 25These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. 26At that day ye shall ask(aiteo - demand something due) in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: 27For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. 28I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
If we love Jesus then father God loves us. The Greek word transliterated e-ro-ta-o means request. The Greek word transliterated ai-te-o is more like going to the bank and "demanding" some of our own money out of our account. Jesus is saying that there will come a day that he won't pray to the father on our behalf for something we want. Jesus is saying that since the father loves us we can pray to the father ourself and if we pray inside of the spiritual name, nature, character and authority of Jesus father God will listen to us directly and honor our prayer. We are not "taking" anything as if father God was trying to withhold it from us. Father God gives us direct access to the kingdom that he made to share with us. We are "taking" it as though father God is equipping us with it. We have to learn to operate inside of this kingdom because that is where our blessing lies. A kingdom rule that we need to know is that we cannot ask for/demand things to consume on our lusts. We have to be more sober minded in our intent. If a thing is a flashy idol to us our prayer will be viewed differently than if our desire is more functional. Jesus made loaves and fishes. He did not make ice cream and cake. Not that that is impossible. If we are thinking of everything with an ice cream and cake attitude we may run into difficulties. That may be nice for dessert now or then but a loaves and fishes attitude is better. When Jesus made wine for a wedding, that was a special occasion, and it was the best wine. Jesus loves a good wedding.
John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Father God created a method whereby he can save people out of the world. He did this because he loves people. If we want to become part of father God's family we must take this offer. The offer is very simple. Father God sent Jesus from heaven to become a human. Jesus lived without sin and fulfilled the law. Jesus was killed without any sin on his soul. He had to live this perfect life and let himself be killed. Jesus then had the right to become raised from the dead since he didn't have any sin on his soul. Jesus became a raised from the dead human spirit. Father God says this raised from the dead human spirit dwelling in us is what we need to raise our spirit from the dead. If we believe father God telling us that this raised from the dead human spirit dwelling in us is enough to make us right standing with him and we take this offer of being raised from the dead then we immediately become right standing with father God and we become part of his family. We do not believe with our mind that Jesus did accomplish this. We believe with our spirit that our spirit needs to be raised from the dead. We believe with our spirit that father God gave us an invitation to immediately be as spiritually raised from the dead as Jesus is by taking Jesus into our spirit. We take, from within our spirit, this raised from the dead human spirit and immediately become raised from the dead. We may not feel any change but we believe anyway that father God is real and Jesus is real and that we are given this offer to take. We can begin to act according to this raised from the dead spirit. We have to replace our dead works and beliefs with the ones coming from our raised from the dead spirit. We "take" Jesus into every area of our life where we want to be raised from the dead and replace those dead areas with his life. The more we remove our old person the more room we make for the new one.
Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. 6For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Father God did not love us because we were already good. Father God loved us when we were spiritually dead. He wanted to make us into something that we could not make ourselves into. We can not raise our own spirit from the dead. Father God had to provide us with that ability.
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. 7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; 9Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: 11In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: 12That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Inside the person of Jesus we are blessed with all heavenly spiritual blessings. Father God always wanted us to be right there in front of him holy and without any blame. We were not originally born into his family. He had to adopt us in order for this to be true. He decided of his own free will to create the ability to adopt us by sending Jesus to earth as a human so that he could become a raised from the dead human that could raise other humans from the dead. This required that Jesus humbly shed his blood and die to pay for our sins. Father God knows that when we apply this life giving spirit to ourselves and we know we are accepted into the spiritual body of Jesus we will want to praise his glory that brought us there. When we become a part of the body of Jesus we inherit father God. As much as we replace our old man with Jesus, the son of God, is exactly how much we become a son of father God ourselves.
Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience(ap-ei-thei-a - unbelief): 3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5Even when we were dead in sins, hath made us alive together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Disobedience is the same as unbelief. If we don't believe father God we are disobedient. We remain dead in trespasses and sins. However, in Jesus we are made alive, raised up and seated in heavenly places. If we are in Jesus, right now part of us is seated in heavenly places. That is the head part where we are of the body part and still here on earth. Spiritually we are seated in heavenly places. This is the strange world of spiritual corporate bodies. Just like we were a part of the spiritual corporate body of Adam, we become a part of the spiritual corporate body of Jesus. This is only made available to us by grace as a completely free gift available for the taking. In that we are not physically in heaven yet, we are "being saved" but not fully saved yet. Everything that is intended to apply to us now is available now. Once we are fully in heaven we don't need to "believe" we are "being saved" because we will have then "been saved". Our "being saved" is like having tickets to a game or a show. We have the tickets freely given to us and we are on our way. We can plan for the day. We can dress accordingly. We can schedule our transportation. We are as good as there. We can tell anybody we are on our way. But, if we lose the tickets, or if we sell the tickets, or if we decide we don't want to go because we are too busy or we don't care anymore, or if we don't schedule our transportation then we don't actually make it to the game or the show or heaven.
Hebrews 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. 5And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. 11Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. 12Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 13And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
Father God is working in us to get us to the point of the peaceable fruit of righteousness. We will need to cooperate with him in this goal. If we accept correction quickly we will put behind us what ever error we have and move on. The more aggressive we are about doing good the more father God will be excited about us and willing to show us more life.
Jesus Loves Us
John 13:1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
Jesus' relationship with people he calls his own is that he loves them.
Ephesians 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not proper: but rather giving of thanks. 5For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience(ap-ei-thei-a - unbelief). 7Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10Proving(dok-im-a-zo - testing, approving) what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Jesus loved us enough to give himself to God for us. We can now walk in love as dear children of father God. We have to put down all the death oriented things we used to do if we want to replace all those places in us with love. We don't want to waste any part of ourself on death oriented things.
2 Corinthians 5:12 For we recommend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart. 13For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. 14For the love of Christ compels us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
People who are all about appearance are not focusing on the matters of the heart. We were spiritually dead in the spiritual family of Adam. We are now spiritually alive in Jesus. We are now a new spiritual creature. We have become reconciled to father God by being in the finished work of Jesus. Father God made sure the work of Jesus was good enough by being in Jesus while he was here on earth. The love of Jesus can compel us to share this with others. We should not see others in terms of their flesh. We should only see them in terms of their spiritual person.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
If we ever wanted to be able to totally kill off anything death oriented in us that was bothering us and hindering our lives it is by being crucified with Christ. We can consider that anything that had a hold on us is dead. We can kill it off completely and replace it with the life and love of Jesus. It is quite okay to be aggressive about doing this. We won't get in trouble with father God by being aggressive about killing off our old man. We can be vicious about it and father God will love it. It opens up for us the opportunity to be more spiritual than carnal.
Ephesians 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: 7Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. 8Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. 13Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. 14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Our inner man can have bold access with confidence to father God by having faith in our ability to take Jesus into our hearts because father God offered us the ability to be in Jesus. This offer is made to both "Jews" and "Gentiles", which covers everybody. By the gift of the grace of father God this access gives us unsearchable riches, manifold wisdom of father God, mighty strength, the riches of father God's glory and the fulness of father God. We can be rooted and grounded in love and know the love of Christ and be part of father God's whole heavenly family.
Love God
Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
By loving father God with our whole heart we clear our heart of anything else that interferes with the relationship between us and father God. We experience the father/child relationship as a first step to whatever we do. If we consider father God to be too distant we won't be able to have the right father/child perception. He can't be "God out there somewhere". We have to believe he is right here and recognizes that we are loving him. We can then look at our neighbors with the perspective that they are doing the exact same thing with father God. We can recognize they are part of the same family we are and we can love our neighbor as ourself.
Mark 12:28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. 32And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 33And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
Burnt offerings and sacrifices do not replace the father/child and brother/sister relationship that father God wants from us. The kingdom of God is more about the relationship than mechanics. We can burn up all the bulls and goats there are and never have relationship. We can walk right into the kingdom of God if we have the right relationship.
James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? 6But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? 7Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called? 8If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
The promise of father God's kingdom is given to those that love him.
Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Our hearts like to focus. We like to go "all in" on someone or something. We are made this way. If father God is at our focus we will have a wonderful love relationship with him.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12Now we have received(lambano - taken), not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14But the natural man receiveth(dekh-om-ai - receive) not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
If we love father God he will share things he has made for us. We can know these things in our raised from the dead spirit of Jesus that we have taken in to replace our death oriented spirit. This puts us at a level of discernment and living that is not available to a person without Jesus. We could tell them something all day long and without that raised from the dead spirit they will not understand or believe it. These things that father God has prepared for us are not just head knowledge or a spiritual feeling. They may have a real manifestation in some way, like the right mate or a good job or the right residence. We can walk right into them and the world will be oblivious that they are there and that this just happened.
1 Corinthians 8:2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. 3But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
If we love father God he knows it. He is not "out there" ignorant of that.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 8Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the hardships with the gospel according to the power of God; 9Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 10But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: 11Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 12For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. 13Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
The new spirit that father God gives us is love and power. We can use our God given spirit of saving power to endure the evils that come along with the gospel. Father planned to give us this spirit from the foundation of the world. At this point in time that availability has manifested because Jesus has been manifested as the raised from the dead human spirit. Through preaching and teaching we learn and convey the gospel of life and immortality.
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities(feebleness, frailty): for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
All the things we pray for work together for our good if we are loving father God. We must have and pursue the goal of becoming conformed to the image of Jesus. Jesus will be the firstborn of all of us that can make ourselves look just like him. We will all be individual manifestations of Jesus but father God wants all of his children to be as pleasing in nature and character as Jesus is to him. Father God went all the way in by sending Jesus here to die for us. Father God will freely give us all so we can have what we need to conform to the image of Jesus. Father God starts with calling us. If we hear his calling we should heed that. We shouldn't play hard to get or he may move on. If we heed the call then father God justifies us to himself. If we are justified by father God we don't have to justify ourselves to anyone else. Our right standing with father God is all we care about.
1 John 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
If we love father God we will also love his son Jesus. We show our love for and to father God by keeping his commandments. When we keep father God's commandments when nobody is looking we are showing our love directly to father God. When we keep his commandments in front of others we are leading them to understand how to love father God.
1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 4Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
Father God loves us enough to take us from not being his son/daughter to being his son/daughter. We leave the worlds spiritual family and enter father God's spiritual family. We purify/sanctify ourselves as much as we can now so when we see Jesus we will not have any parts of our nature that are sinful and that don't look like him. We do this on our own motivation because we love father God and Jesus and we want to be a part of their family. If we can get totally inside of Jesus we will have absolutely no sin. We can be totally sin free. Father God expects this of his children both as a mandate and a family heritage expectation. He is not expecting us to be something uncharacteristic of his family. He is expecting us to be exactly the same as anyone else in his family. There is no extra burden on any one of us than is on anyone in heaven. Jesus destroyed the works of the devil so we only need to be in Jesus to enjoy complete dominion over the sin nature and the devil.
1 John 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. 11For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. 13Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. 14We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 15Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 16Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 18My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. 19And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. 20For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 21Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. 22And whatsoever we ask(aiteo - require), we receive(lambano - take) of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 24And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
Father God's first commandment to us is that we believe on the name of his son Jesus. Father God knows we can't even begin to act like Jesus or even understand heavenly spiritual things without being a part of his family. If we are to live totally sin free as a part of father God's family we have to have the raised from the dead human spirit in us. The second thing is to love the other brethren who have come from varied backgrounds and experiences like we have and have come into father God's family like we have. As much as the Hebrew children were told in the "law" to love the stranger because they were also once strangers, we should love the stranger that becomes part of the brethren and part of father God's family. The third thing is to do what is pleasing in father God's sight. When we keep father God's commandments we are believing on Jesus and loving brethren and we are doing those things that are pleasing in his sight. When we are believing on Jesus and loving the brethren in deed and not just in word and we are doing those things that are pleasing in his sight then our heart does not condemn us and whatever we demand/require we can take. When we take what we demand/require we have for ourself and to share with the brethren. Most new adoptees need time to get oriented and need a good example from us to see and copy. If new brethren see us laying down our lives by sharing resources and having compassion for each other they will learn to do the same. The body of Jesus has to work together. All parts have to share with each other enough to function as a body. Once everyone is set up and properly trained there shouldn't be any weak links in the body. Nobody will "have needs" that they haven't learned to get met by father God. The body continues to strengthen and grow under father God's family "system". We all learn to operate independently and together.
1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
We have to know that we are in father God. In father God we will keep his commandments. If we are motivated to keep his commandments because of our relationship with father God we are showing the love of God. If we say we know father God but don't keep his commandments we probably only really mean we know "of" father God but we don't really know father God. We are actually lying.
Titus 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Let's look at the word "regeneration".
παλιγγενεσία
paliggenesia
pal-ing-ghen-es-ee'-ah
(spiritual) rebirth (the state or the act), that is, (figuratively) spiritual renovation; specifically Messianic restoration: - regeneration.
We all come from a background of sins and unbelief that father God is father God. We are deceived into not believing that he is father God. We are partly right in that he is not father God to us, but we are wrong in that he is still father God, period. We inherit at birth a death oriented spirit through no fault of our own and are not a part of father God's spiritual family. Because of his love for us father God stepped in to save us. We don't have to regenerate our own spirit from the dead. This would be impossible. We can not recreate ourselves. Our salvation is much easier. We have to be regenerated and renewed from an outside source. Father God provides this outside source through Jesus. We just have to take it. Once we are regenerated and renewed we have inherited father God. We are justified, or made righteous, or made right with father God and then we can do works of righteousness which are a sign that we love father God.
Jude 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. 20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22And of some have compassion, differentiating them: 23And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. 24Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Not everyone wants to be in the love of father God and obtain eternal life. They do not have his spirit. Of those who have not become a part of father God's family we can discerningly glean some out and guide them to father God.
Love Jesus
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
As Jesus is working under father God to guide us into the family of father God we must keep his commandments also. We remember that the commandments of father God start with believing in Jesus. Jesus comes well equipped. He can send us the Holy Spirit to dwell with us and in us. He is not the raised from the dead human spirit that Jesus is but he is part of the Elohim, the trinity. If we love Jesus we will keep his commandments and have access to the Holy Spirit.
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 22Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
The commandments that Jesus is giving us come from father God through him to us. If we manifest our love for Jesus by keeping his commandments he will manifest himself to us by dwelling in us. If Jesus and father God and the Holy Spirit are all dwelling in us, that's the whole trinity. It is literally heaven on earth right inside of us. No one on the outside would be aware of it but we surely would know about the love party going on inside of us.
Matthew 10:37 He that loveth(phileo) father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth(phileo) son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
Let's look briefly at the Greek word used here for "love". The two predominant Greek words used in the New Testament are "Phil-e-o" and "Ag-a-pey". This word is "phileo" and not "agape".
φιλέω
phileō
fil-eh'-o
From φίλος - philos; to be a friend to (fond of [an individual or an object]), that is, have affection for (denoting personal attachment, as a matter of sentiment or feeling; while ἀγαπάω is wider,
embracing especially the judgment and the deliberate assent of the will as a matter of principle, duty and propriety: the two thus stand related very much as [θέλω, ἐθέλω - thelō ethelō] and [βούλομαι - boulomai],
or as [θυμός - thumos] and [φιλανθρωπία - philanthrōpia] respectively; the former being chiefly of the heart and the latter of the head); specifically to kiss (as a mark of tenderness): - kiss, love.
φίλος
philos
fee'-los
Properly dear, that is, a friend; actively fond, that is, friendly (still as a noun, an associate, neighbor, etc.): - friend.
ἀγάπη
agapē
ag-ah'-pay
From [ἀγαπάω - agapaō]; love, that is, affection or benevolence; specifically (plural) a love feast: - (feast of) charity ([-ably]), dear, love.
ἀγαπάω
agapaō
ag-ap-ah'-o
Perhaps from [ἄγαν - agan] (much; or compare [עגב - ‛âgab]); to love (in a social or moral sense): - (be-) love (-ed).
We can see that "agape" is a bit more objective whereas "phileo" is more personal. What Jesus is saying here is you have to be closer to him in a friendly, intimate, heart felt manner than you are to your father, mother, son or daughter. When we look at our father or mother, do we perceive our relationship with Jesus to be closer than with them? If we look at our children, do we consider Jesus to be closer? This is the kind of relationship that Jesus is looking for and expecting. We can not have anyone else closer to us than Jesus. It keeps a nice barrier between you and the outside world. You will always be able to share with Jesus first as to how you relate with those outside of you.
John 21:14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead. 15So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest(ἀγαπάω - agapaō) thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love(φιλέω - phileō) thee. He saith unto him, Feed(βόσκω - boskō - graze, fodder) my lambs(babies). 16He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest(ἀγαπάω - agapaō) thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love(φιλέω - phileō) thee. He saith unto him, Feed(ποιμαίνω - poimainō - tend as a shepherd) my sheep(more mature). 17He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest(φιλέω - phileō) thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest(φιλέω - phileō) thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love(φιλέω - phileō) thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed(βόσκω - boskō - graze, fodder) my sheep.
After we have been trained by Jesus regarding his word we can share our understanding with Jesus' lambs and sheep. The lambs need basic food and the spiritual adults need direction on how to apply their faith and how to operate as a body.
Revelation 1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 5And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first born of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
The first blessing to us through John is grace and peace from father God and Jesus. Jesus is recognized as the faithful witness(μάρτυς - martus - martyr) and the first born of the dead. By being a faithful witness/martyr, dieing with no sin on his soul, Jesus is the first human to be spiritually resurrected from the dead. Jesus began developing his kingdom consisting of spiritually raised from the dead humans starting with himself. He had no one what so ever before himself as part of his kingdom and started with himself and added people into his spirit body from the time of his resurrection until now and continuing. Lazarus, who Jesus raised from the dead, was only physically raised from the dead and not spiritually. Until Jesus paid for the raised from the dead human spirit with his blood no one could be legally spiritually raised from the dead. Jesus now has the authority to put his blood bought raised from the dead human spirit into our spirit to raise it from the dead making us washed from our sins in his blood. Jesus then trains us up to be kings and priests before his father and our father, father God.
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying(building) of the body of Christ: 13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect(complete) man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying(building) of itself in love. 17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: 19Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20But ye have not so learned Christ; 21If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
Father God has put all truth into Jesus. In order to be part of father God's family we cannot be liars. Liars are not a part of father God's family. We can only speak truth with each other in love. Jesus has a spiritual body. He of course is the head of his body. Jesus is building and developing and increasing his body. We are created by Jesus and are the individual parts of Jesus' body. We individually grow into the same maturity and completeness that Jesus is. The body builds and grows itself in love. All members of the body must fit tightly together and work together so we can do the work of the ministry as the body. The apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are there to help perfect the body and its individual components so it will grow and so it can do the ministry of spreading the gospel to others. People without Jesus have blind hearts and are alienated from the life of God and only live in their minds which cannot understand father God and are not a part of his family.
1 Peter 3:8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: 9Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. 10For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
We want to love and have a good life and inherit a blessing. We must bless others like we want to be blessed. We may not speak badly of or towards each other. We all have to act like we have the same mind as Jesus towards the other brethren.
Philippians 2:1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
We all want to be in Jesus. We have to share this place with others. If we want to share in his love and in fellowship with each other we have to be like minded.
Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness(completeness). 15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father through him.
Love is the perfect glue to hold all of us together in one spiritual body. We can have father God's word and peace come to us in our heart and dwell in us through Jesus. From us back through Jesus to father God we can thank father God for it. The more we are in Jesus the more we will be receiving from father God and the more we can thank father God for it.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation(testing): for when he is(becomes) tried(approved, acceptable), he shall receive(lambano - take) the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
When we are successful in enduring our spiritual tests we can take the crown of life that is promised to us by Jesus if we love him.
2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
On the day we are accepted into father God's kingdom we receive a crown of righteousness if we love his appearing.
1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5Who are guarded by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
We are begotten, or born, again by the resurrection of Jesus. As much as Jesus is raised from the dead, so are we. Even though we have never seen Jesus we believe he exists and is our salvation and we love him.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
We should not put our love on physical things more than we do on father God.
John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
We can think of ourself as a grain of wheat that we plant in the hope that we bear much fruit and inherit eternal life.
1 Corinthians 16:22 if any one doth not love the Lord Jesus Christ--let him be anathema! The Lord hath come!
Anyone who doesn't love Jesus should be excommunicated. He is the only way we have access to father God and his kingdom and his family of love.
Love Your Enemies
Matthew 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Father God is telling us we don't have to hate anyone. Father God is saying he is above both the good and the evil person. From the perspective of his family member we don't have to be defensive against the evil person. We can even bless them, do good to them and pray to father God for them.
Luke 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. 30Give to every man that asketh(aiteo - demand) of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask(apaiteo - demand back) them not again. 31And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. 32For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. 33And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. 34And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Father God was kind to us to offer us Jesus as our salvation while we were evil. As long as we are not intentionally sponsoring an evil act we can give to someone that is evil and father God will reward us. It is more important to father God that we be merciful than fearful and defensive. By doing to others what we would want them to do to us rather than as they have done to us we are taking a leadership role rather than a reflexive role. Father God doesn't want our love to become second place to hate or concerns over his supply.
Disciples Love Each Other
Luke 7:37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, 38And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. 39Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. 40And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. 41There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. 42And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? 43Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. 44And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. 45Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. 46My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. 47Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
When we first become a member of father God's family we may or may not have recognition of what sin is. We may have come from an easy background or a difficult one. The more we apply ourselves to renew ourselves in Jesus to remove sin and the affects of sin from our lives the more we will appreciate the love and grace we inherit. If we don't really try to mature and just stay content at a lower level of regeneration we will not be very aware of father God's love and forgiveness. We can explore father God's forgiveness and love our whole life as we remove more sin from our life. Every bit of sin we remove makes more room for love.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Jesus gives us the commandment to follow his leadership example and love others just like he loves us.
John 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. 16Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask(aiteo - demand) of the Father in my name, he may give it you. 17These things I command you, that ye love one another. 18If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Jesus abode in father God's love by keeping father God's commandments. Jesus invites us to abide in his love which is by keeping his commandments. Jesus says that if we want to be called his friends rather than a servant we must do whatever he commands us to do. One such thing is that we love one another. We are chosen out of the world and ordained to bear spiritual fruit. To help us bear fruit we can ask/demand of father God whatever we want or need.
John 17:13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 24Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. 25O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
This is a revealing prayer that Jesus prayed to father God just before he was crucified. We can see the closeness to Jesus and father God in everything and that whatever father God and Jesus had between them is passed onto us. Jesus gave us father God's word. Neither Jesus or we are of the world. Jesus was sent into the world and he sends us into the world. Jesus sanctified himself with father God's word that we can be sanctified through father God's truthful word. Jesus and father God are one. Jesus wants us to be one with each other and with Jesus and father God. Jesus gave us the same glory that father God gave Jesus. Jesus prays that the same love that Jesus gets from father God we get also from father God. Jesus must think pretty highly of father God and his love and his glory and his truth and his word to want to share that with us. Likewise, Jesus must think pretty highly of us to give us the same resources and job.
2 John 1:5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 6And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. 7For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
Jesus is representing father God so transparently that if we don't do what Jesus has taught us we do not have father God. Jesus instructs us to love, which is to walk after his commandments, which is to love. If we step outside of this commandment we are committing an evil deed.
Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 9For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Father God crafted so much of the law to say the one simple thing of love our neighbor as ourself. Father God really wants this all over this planet.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 15Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19We love him, because he first loved us. 20If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
God is love and manifests love. Father God's love has both a spiritual and a physical manifestation. Father God "feels" love towards us and then manifests that love towards us. Father God felt love towards us while we were spiritually dead in sin and needing help. Father God then manifested that love by sending his only begotten son to us that we might live through him. We know we are spiritually raised from the dead because we have father God's spirit. We know we have father God's spirit because we are love. If we cannot manifest ourselves like father God does and if we do not love we need to check ourselves to see if we are really in father God or not. We might be a liar. One manifestation of our love that is similar to father God's manifestation of love towards us is that we love our spiritual brethren. We don't see them in terms of their flesh anymore. We see them in terms of their spiritual person. Father God looked past our flesh and created a means to resurrect us spiritually. We want to convey this same opportunity to others to get them past their flesh so they can be spiritually resurrected. Then we are of the same spiritual family.
Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
1 Thessalonians 4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
Romans 12:9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.
1 Peter 2:17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
We should honor all people, but we should be sure we love the brotherhood with our raised from the dead human spirit that they also have.
1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Once we are born again and are the raised from the dead spirit that father God is offering us we have to purify our own soul(/mind). We use our spirit to do that by having our spirit at a higher authority level than our soul. Our spirit knows truth and we can use it to remove anything that is not truth from our mind. When our spirit is in authority we can pursue the goal of sincerely loving the brethren with our whole heart.
1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent love among yourselves: for love shall cover(hide) the multitude of sins. 9Use hospitality one to another without grudging. 10As every man hath received(lambano - taken) the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God
As much as we have taken the gift of the raised from the dead human spirit given to us by father God's grace we can freely minister, or serve, that same gift to others like we are overseers or managers of it. The more intently we love each other the more we can cover each others sins. We can show our hospitality, or fondness of foreigners/guests freely just as father God showed his fondness of us while we were not a part of his spiritual family.
1 John 2:10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. 11But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
Father God is the father of lights. Jesus is a source of that light. If we abide in Jesus we abide in the light of the father. Part of the nature and character of our spiritual father is that we love our spiritual brothers that abide in Jesus just as father God wants to love them like he loves us. People who don't display this nature and character are dwelling in darkness and not light. They are spiritually blinded.
2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love. 8For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 11For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
The more knowledge we have of the grace given to us by father God and Jesus the more we can invoke their exceeding great promises. These promises let us partake of father God's and Jesus' divine nature. Part of this divine nature is brotherly kindness and love. Without our divine nature developed we are spiritually blind. We are still operating under our old sins. If we don't want to fall and fail to make it into Jesus' everlasting kingdom we have to be diligent to develop and mature these aspects of our divine spiritual nature.
Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
We have to stop walking in the flesh and start walking in the spirit. We will not inherit father God's kingdom if we continue to walk in the flesh. We can say we want to be a part of father God's kingdom but we have to "take" his kingdom now and we are not "taking" it if we are not walking in it. We have to take it and apply it to every part of our life. By looking at father God's word we can learn when we are inside or outside of his kingdom so we can eliminate the conduct that represents outside and stay inside his kingdom. Fortunately our raised from the dead spirit is completely inside his kingdom. This is why walking after the spirit makes it so easy to be in father God's kingdom. We have to will to put the authority of our consciousness onto our spirit and not our mind or our body.
Colossians 2:2 That their hearts might be encouraged, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the entire confidence of understanding, to the full knowledge of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
As we come to the full knowledge of the mystery of God our hearts can be encouraged as we become united in love.
Ephesians 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, 2With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
We should walk worthy of our calling to become children of father God in lowliness and meekness. We should forbear each other in love as they also are trying to walk worthy of their calling. We can look into our heart as to what we want to offer to others. Father God may be inclined to disregard purely mechanical over cheerfully given. If we have a bad attitude about giving something we can presume father God will mitigate a reward.
Faith And Love
Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Faith works by love.
Philemon 1:5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; 6That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. 7For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother. 8Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient, 9Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 1:15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
Colossians1:4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, 5For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; 6Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: 7As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; 8Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
1 Timothy 1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 6:23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
2 Corinthians 8:7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. 8I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove(test) the sincerity of your love.
2 Thessalonians 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
1 Thessalonians 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 11Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. 12And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
The breastplate protects the heart. If we have a breastplate of faith and love we have our heart protected by our faith in father God and our love for father God.
On a larger scale we develop our love to reach beyond the brethren and how we deal with them. We might consider loving the brethren a first step to where we are not trying to kill each other in the name of God. Our love that we command as a person as part of our nature and character can go beyond just the brethren and be infused into whatever we do.
Love Applied To Everything
1 Corinthians 16:14 Let all your things be done with love.
1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. 3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body that I may glory, and have not love, it profiteth me nothing. 4Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love is not boastful, is not puffed up, 5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Love is the personality of father God. The other properties are more mechanical. We can speak with tongues, prophesy and have faith. These are gifts to us. Father God is the source of the spirit that lets us do these things. We can feed the poor. This is mechanical. The thing that ties them all together and depicts an intent or a perspective says more about the general nature of a person. If we consider times when we might be patient or impatient, kind or angry, humble or boastful, giving or self centered and we always pick the more loving one we are reflecting the personality of father God.
2 Corinthians 8:24 Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.
Our "love" is something to be regarded. We recognize amongst each other how much our "love" has matured. This isn't a love that is specifically applied, like "to the brethren". This is our overall love that we have learned to apply to all areas of our life by walking after the spirit.
2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Father God wants us to operate out of our heart and not out of mechanics.
Philippians 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; 10That ye may test things that differ; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; 11Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. 12But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; 13So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; 14And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. 15Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: 16The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 17But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
When our love abounds we can be filled with fruits of righteousness. These fruits can be from anywhere and pertain to anything. They don't have to be specific to loving the brethren. All knowledge is in Jesus. As much as we apply our knowledge and love that we inherit through Jesus to all areas of our life we can mature and conquer in those areas.
1 Thessalonians 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
1 Thessalonians 3:5 For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain. 6But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and love, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you: 7Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: 8For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. 9For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God; 10Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? 11Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. 12And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: 13To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
We can be tempted with sin out of the faith. The more love of father God we have the easier it is to have faith. We access father God's love by faith. We are all given a measure of faith and it can increase from that starting point if we are in father God's love. Likewise, our faith can diminish if we get out of father God's love. We need to use our given measure of faith all we can to be in father God's love to increase our faith.
2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. 12Greet one another with an holy kiss. 13All the saints salute you. 14The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
Father God is the God of love and peace.
Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Husbands are to love their wives as much as they love their own bodies. In verse 33 the statement "Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself" is a command. This is not a suggestion. As the leader in the relationship this is a prerequisite. This is written in the imperative present tense as an ongoing command no matter what. In the latter part of the verse we see "and the wife see that she reverence her husband". This is not written as a command. It is written as a conditional command. This is written in the subjunctive mood indicating this applies when conditions are met. The wife is to reverence her husband when the right conditions are met. The condition is that the husband love his wife even as himself. The wife should love her husband as a normal response to a husband that is loving her.
1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
We should be a spiritual example to our youth demonstrating spiritual characteristics.
2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
We must purge our heart of lusts so we can fill it with spiritual characteristics that reflect father God's spiritual nature. If we clean our heart we can call on the Lord with no sin in our heart and take these characteristics into our clean heart.
Titus 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in endurance. 3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
There is nothing different for the elderly than for the youth. We all need to learn the same things. The nature of father God doesn't change based on who we are or how old we are. We have to behave the same way, only hopefully better.
Hebrews 6:8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. 9But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. 10For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Father God is aware of what we do that is legitimately towards his kingdom. He won't allow or recognize man conceived ideas of what is for his kingdom. We can't redefine our job to suit ourselves. If we bear thorns and briars we will be rejected. If we bear good fruit we will be rewarded.
John 7:7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
The world is having a problem with sin that is brought to light when children of light come near it. There will usually be that conflict of spirit between the people who are not a part of father God's family and those that are. The works of the world are evil to father God and the works of fathers children should be righteous.
Proverb 10:12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
We can reduce and eliminate strife by loving. Any time we begin to feel strife we can take a step back and ask how we might apply love to our situation.
2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
We can invoke the anger of a jealous God if we do not want to love the truth. Father God will be putting an end to all unrighteousness. If we are holding onto unrighteousness we will be deceived and damned. If we have any opportunity to believe father God we should use it and hold onto it.
1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
Money is a mechanical thing that we might be inclined to put our confidence in. Father God can provide what we need to do something through the spirit realm. This may include a lot of money. We need to seek it through father God rather than pursue it on our own. We might get something between us and father God. We should pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness and let father God pay for whatever he wants to do. With our spirit right we can handle the money right.
Matthew 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall become cold.
Our love can become cold. Sin will cause our love to become cold. Offense will cause our love to become cold. We do not need to take any offense personally. We can give Jesus all our rejection. We know we are in a world with mixed families, good and evil. People will reject us because we are part of Jesus. If we give Jesus our rejection we don't need to be offended. Then we don't need to justify ourselves. Remember, bless those that curse you. Bless and curse not.
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of love, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
Some people will be right next to us but not a part of our family. They seem to sneak in and be destructive. They can be very subtle. We need to know father God's word very well to be able to discern these people. They are good at killing people.
Revelation 2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; 2I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 3And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. 4Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. 6But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. 8And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; 9I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. 10Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. 11He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. 12And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; 13I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. 14But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. 15So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. 16Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. 17He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. 18And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; 19I know thy works, and love, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. 20Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. 24But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
Our first love should be father God. Notice each church is recognized for their works. This passage covers 4 of the 7 churches but all 7 have their works and weaknesses recognized. If we love father God we will keep his commandments and do his commandments. Jesus rebukes father God's children. Jesus is making his body and will be very diligent to make it the best one he can. He will clean and purge it of all the people who don't take the relationship seriously.
Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
When Jesus has the body he wants he will put it in rulership over others. Jesus is right below father God in authority. If we are in Jesus we are part of his body that is seated next to father God and is second in command.
Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
The best thing to do when Jesus rebukes us is to repent and get the mistake behind us as fast as we can. We have a lot of maturing and developing to do if we want to have a good place in Jesus in the next age.
